Si tratta di un amplificatore per cuffia con DAC che utilizza i moduli di amplificazione THX AAA-788, di qualità ma non imparentati col regista di Guerre Stellari.
Lavorano a braccetto col convertitore AK4490EQ, capace di risoluzioni PCM fino a 32 bit e 768 kHz e DSD 11.2.
La ricostruzione del sounddtage, invece, il Monolith Desktop THX la affida al chip Dirac Sensaround II, a cui viene affidato l’arduo compito di ricostruire una scena musicale corretta che in sala di mixaggio è stata pensata per l’ascolto con i diffusori, non certo per le cuffie. Il circuito Sensaround II è disinseribile dall’utente.
Il tutto in buona compagnia di ingressi analogici e digitali, sbilanciati e bilanciati.
